• What is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)?

A Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) is a firm that provides investment advice and financial planning services and is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). RIAs are held to a fiduciary standard, meaning they are legally obligated to act in their clients' best interests.

  • What does "fee-only" mean?

As fee-only advisors do not receive commissions, fees, or bonuses from the investment recommendations we make from any third party.  We believe this offers an objectivity, as our recommendations are solely in their best interests and are not designed to generate additional compensation.

  • How are you compensated?

We are fee-only: our fee structure is transparent and designed to align our interests with yours. We typically charge a fiduciary fee based on a percentage of assets under management, with no commissions on product sales. We’ll discuss our fees upfront so you know exactly what to expect.

  • How do you select investments for clients?

Our investment philosophy advocates participation in the markets with a globally diversified portfolio as a prudent strategy for the long journey.  Our Director of Investments oversees the Investment Committee who have a rigorous process for evaluating and monitoring investment options for client portfolios.  Advisors use this approved selection list to recommend a portfolio and allocation that aligns with your risk tolerance and objectives. We employ a combination of active and passive strategies to optimize growth and manage risk.

  • Which custodians do you use?

Client assets are held by qualified third‑party custodians, separate from our firm. We primarily utilize Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. as custodian. For 529 college savings plans, accounts are held with American Funds. Our firm does not maintain custody of client funds or securities.
